My brother and his girlfriend have recently relocated to the medieval hill top village of Valon in South West France. Valon is located on the edge of the beautiful Carladez region, North Aveyron, in the Midi-Pyrenees.

Chris and Emma have newly renovated a gite that offers both rustic charm and 21st Century home comforts. This has accommodation for four people and has spectacular views over the Truyere Valley.

A second barn has also been converted into a contemporary art gallery. The majority of their art is handmade in the workshop below the gallery, however, they also exhibit various pieces from different local and European artists.

The idyllic location promises a very relaxing holiday where you can enjoy the peace and calm of the surrounding unspoilt countryside. Valon is an ideal base for enjoying outdoor pursuits with centres for canoeing, mountain biking, skiing and walking nearby. The region offers many excellent restaurants and other picturesque towns and villages to explore.
